APC’s Idris Wins Kebbi Governorship Election

APC Disbands Presidential Campaign Council

Nasiru Idris, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, has been proclaimed the winner of the Kebbi State governorship election in 2023.

Yusuf Saidu, the Returning Officer for Kebbi State, pronounced Idris the winner on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

According to Saidu, a Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), Idris received 409,225 votes to defeat his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenger, Maj-Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd.), who received 360,940 votes.

The vote gap between them is 48,285, and the Returning Officer declared Idris the winner of the hotly contested election, saying, “I, Professor Yusuf Saidu, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the 2023 Kebbi State Governorship Election held on the 15th day of April, 2023.”

“That Idris Nasiru of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby the winner and is returned elected.”
