Cabinet ministers are plotting to oust Theresa May from power, May could be forced to resign over her handling of Brexit a newspaper has claimed.

The Sunday Times reported, 11 cabinet ministers had told them, they want the PM to move over for a replacement to take over the top job.

It has been reported that May’s de facto deputy David Lidington could be the potential caretaker replacement.

Last week Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the backbench of the 1922 committee, reportedly met with May to inform her most of the Tory party MPs want her to quit her job.

The Daily Telegraph said, Sir Graham met with May at Number 10 on Monday after he was “bombarded” with text messages from MPs, demanding she should go.

May has faced a furious backlash from MPs, May’s former policy advisor George Freeman MP, said it’s “all over for the PM.”

Freeman wrote on Twitter, “She’s done her best. But across the country you can see the anger.

“Everyone feels betrayed. Government’s gridlocked. Trust in democracy collapsing. This can’t go on. We need a new PM who can reach out (and) build some sort of coalition for a PlanB.”

The former education secretary, Nicky Morgan told the Sunday Telegraph that ministers should tell May “it’s time to go.”

Steve Baker said potential leadership contenders should “act now.”

Anne-Marie Trevelyan a Conservative party backbencher wrote in the Sunday Telegraph, “We now need a leader who believes in our country and wants to take her on the next stage of her journey.”

Former Brexit secretary David Davies MP wrote in the Sunday Telegraph, he said leaving without a deal on the World Trade Organisation (WTO) looks “much better than the other options in front of us.”

He added, “If parliament rejects the deal on offer, the prime minister has it in her power to deliver a WTO outcome. That is what she should do.

“And if some ministers resign as a result? That would be a pity, but there are always volunteers to replace every departure.”

On Saturday up to one million people marched through London demanding a “Peoples Vote.” Campaigners and demonstrators are calling for the deal to put to the people again, with the option to remain in the EU.
