CBN Retains Monetary Policy Rate at 14.0%

 

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, on Tuesday, March 21, has made a decision to retain the monetary rate.

The apex bank Monetary Policy Committee, MPC at its meeting made the decisions made to retain the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 14.0%.

The MPC also decided to maintain the Asymmetric corridor around the MPR at 200/-500bps; Cash Reserves Ratio (CRR) at 22.5%; and Liquidity Ratio (LR) at 30.0% was made.

The Committee noted that the risk facing the domestic economy was in two folds (i.e. price and output) and reiterated its commitment to price stability while closely monitoring domestic and external developments that could shape subsequent decisions.
