As part of measures to boost the economic potentials of its indigenes, Delta State government has disbursed more than N530million loan to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa gave out cheques of various amounts to the benefiting cooperative societies at the event which took place on Monday in Government House, Asaba in the presence of the Deputy Comptroller of CBN in the state, Dame Edith Agu, who represented the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele.
The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Monday Igbuya; Deputy Speaker, Mr. Friday Osanebi and a host of other political office holders and members of the society graced the event.
Okowa revealed that the sum of N435,180,000 was disbursed as at December, 2015 to 2,617 persons, while N101,000,000 was distributed yesterday to 1,000 persons drawn from the 25 local government areas of the state under the“CBN Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund and we are happy that most of the beneficiaries are women”.
