The world’s largest jersey was on Monday, unveiled by Guinness Nigeria PLC, in the colors of Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos.
The unveiling of the jersey is part of the company’s efforts to drum up support for the Super Eagles at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
The Marketing and Innovative Director, Guinness Nigeria, Mr. Austin Ofomba, said that the jersey which is 275.5 by 249.9 square meter was unveiled as a show of commitment towards building the national team and would be preserved for historical purposes.
The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Dr. Abiola Awonuga, expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to emerge victorious in this year’s Nations Cup. He further commended Guinness Nigeria for their huge investment in boosting “the Super Eagles’ dream of lifting the 2013 African Cup of Nations”.
