Workers Strike: HIV Patients in Osun Unable to Get Drugs

Following the ongoing strike actions by civil servants in Osun state, people living with HIV/AIDS in the state have been having hard times.

At the weekend, they lamented their conditions which are fast deteriorating due to their inability to access drugs from government hospitals as a result of the strike.

Addressing a press conference, a Non-Governmental Organization in Osun  State, Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI) which caters for vulnerable people, said those living with HIV/AIDS in the state are in a desperate condition.

Executive Director of HFDI, Stephen Aremu, said HIV/ADIS patients  had been coming to his secretariat to seek help.  He called on the state government to pay the workers so that they would resume and  make drugs available to HIV/AIDS patients.
