Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Professor Sunday Adelabu has said that three programmes including medicine, veterinary medicine and agriculture are on the verge of getting full accreditation.
Speaking with journalists after a tour of faculties at the permanent site yesterday, he said “in fact the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) has written the university to convey approval for the commencement of clinical training”.
The VC said, “ The Engineering Programme however had earlier failed resource verification by NUC and therefore ought to have been stopped by the previous administration, all the same it was continued, we have made efforts to improve on the status of the programme which has now paid off.”
He recalled that when the present administration assumed office in July 2009 the four new programmes, Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine and Veterinary medicine were housed either in rented buildings or borrowed structures in Gwagwalada or Sheda from where they were either ejected or had to be relocated.
