#UCL: PSG, Porto Tried…Barcelona, Bayern Munich Just Too Good

Bayern Munich and Barcelona were too good for Porto and PSG, as both teams swept aside their opponents 6-1 and 2-0 respectively, to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Bayern came into the game against Porto with doubt after a dismal performac=nce in the first leg, which saw them fall to a surprising 3-1 defeat in Portugal last week.

It took only 22 minutes for Thiago Alcantara and Jerome Boateng to wipe out last week’s memories and level the scores on aggregate.

Pep Guardiola’s men didn’t stop there, as Robert Lewandowski bagged a brace – including a sensational team move – around a Thomas Muller shot that was deflected past the goalkeeper.

Jackson Martinez got a consolation goal for Porto after 73 minutes, but Ivan Marcano received a second yellow card in the final stages and Xabi Alonso’s free kick sealed the 6-1 scoreline.

Bayern Munich qualified 7-4 on aggregate.

Barcelona had already won 3-1 at the Parc des Princes, so there was little surprise when they dominated Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg too.

Neymar got both goals in the first half, one set up by a marvellous Andres Iniesta run and the other nodding in the Dani Alves cross.

Juventus take on Monaco tomorrow evening and there’s the Madrid derby between Atletico and Real to complete the final four for the semi-final stage of the Champions League
