Turkish Airlines has added Bundesliga soccer side Schalke 04 to its sponsorship portfolio.
The new deal, which, according to German media reports, is worth around €1.4 million (US$1.6 million) to the team, will see Turkish Airlines support the team for two years.
The company will receive branding rights on Schalke’s LED pitchside boards and on all the club’s marketing and media materials.
The deal follows an agreement the Schalke sponsorship sales team recently struck with Media Markt. The electronics retailer has also signed a sponsorship deal with fellow Bundesliga side Hamburger SV in recent days.
The German Football Association (DFB), meanwhile, has signed a deal with the organisers of the German Touring Car (DTM) motorsport series that will see DTM advertise at matches across the third tier of German soccer, the 3. Liga.
