As part of efforts to boost trade and commerce in Nigeria, the construction of the Lekki Deep Sea Port would soon take off.
This was disclosed by the Managing Director, of the project, Haresh Ascoani, during a tour of the area by the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Habib Abdullahi, recently.
“The Lekki Port project is an interesting one because it highlights the advantages of the collaboration of the private and public sector. We are very excited to partner with the Federal Government of Nigeria through the NPA and Lagos State Government, ” he said.
While appreciating the immense support of the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola and others, Ascoani pointed out that their enthusiasm for the project has helped the project made a head way so far.
He projected that within the next few months, the Lekki area will be energised with the sounds of construction of a world class deep sea port, adding that it would definitely position Nigeria to host the highest throughputs in West Africa with investment exceeding $25 billion.
