A school teacher, Mr Sunday Kingston and his friend, Mr August Johnson , have been arrested by detectives in Ogun State police command, over alleged kidnap of two school children in Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
The incident, according to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspects were arrested in Ohaukwu area in Ebonyi State.
Kingston, a school teacher at Imperial International School, Molipa, Ijebu-Ode,was said to have connived with his friend, to kidnap Tolulope Kosoko (9) and Omodolapo Kosoko (7), penultimate Tuesday.
They were said to have demanded N 500,000 as ransom from the parents of the victims, before the children could regain freedom. They were also reported to have sent account details which was pencilled down by the police.
The suspects were arrested while making efforts to withdraw the money from the account with the help of police informants placed on surveillance in Ebonyi State.
