Following the laudable performances of Super Eagles players at the just concluded African Nations Championship in Cape town, prominent clubs in the South African Premier Soccer League have indicated interest in signing some of the Nigerian players.
An Eagles source in camp disclosed that the clubs currently scrambling for Nigerian players after the South African national team lost to Eagles in the last group stage of the competition, now have the opportunity to invite some of them for proper negotiations.
It was also revealed that top among the players expected to sign for the PSL clubs include most valueable player in CHAN, Ejike Uzoenyi and defenders Azubike Egwuekwe and Solomon Kwambe. These players stayed back in South Africa while their team mates returned to Nigeria.
“During the competition, we saw some club officials trying to get valuable information on Nigerian players but the camp rules did not allow them to really get close to the players. There were strict rules that no player should move out of the camp on personal interest,” the source said.
