Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State, yesterday, disbursed a total sum of N100 million as compensation package to victims of recent Boko Haram attack in Bama local government area of the state.
Shettima yesterday visited the troubled area where he sympathised with the leaders and people of Bama who had suffered series of attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents.
The governor who spoke at the palace of the Shehu of Bama, Alhaji Kyari Ibrahim El-Kanemi, where he presented N100 million to the monarch on behalf of the people, expressed concern over the violent activeities of the insurgents and its negative impact on innocent lives.
Shettima said, “I took an oath of office as the governor two years ago to work for the people devoid of ethnic, religious and political affiliations. That is why it becomes a duty for us to share in your moments of grief.”
