RTEAN Versus NURTW: Violence Looms In Oyo

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has called on the Oyo state government to step into the crisis between the union and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), so as not to puncture the existing peace in the state.

The two groups have had some clashes before the current administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi assumed office in 2011.

During the press conference held by the executives of RTEAN at their headquarters in the Muslim area of Ibadan, yesterday, some of the issues that could lead to the crisis were discussed.

RTEAN alleged that the state government has not been fair to it with some of the promises it made, saying that it was the responsibility of the government to stop the NURTW from kicking RTEAN out of motor parks across the state.
