Rising Competition In Nigeria’s Cement Industry Leads To Price Cut, Increased Capacity

Uphill competition in the Nigeria’s cement industry is leading to stable and lower price, as production capacity further increases to meet rising demand.

Nigeria’s leading cement manufacturer, Dangote Cement plc, said it has increased its production capacity by 9 million metric tonnes per annum.

While UniCem, a cement manufacturer located in Cross River State, recently commissioned an additional 2.5 million metric tonnes per annum line to double production at its plant.

In the same vein, Lafarge Africa also announced that it plans to increase capacity.
