The Peoples Democratic Party has commenced procedures that may lead to the ultimate removal of Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba State from office. In line with this, the party has inaugurated a seven-man committee on the political situation in the state.
The governor, his aide-de-camp, chief security officer and three others were involved in a plane crash last October in Yola, Adamawa State, sustaining several degrees of injuries in the accident. Since after the accident, the survivor has been overseas receiving medical attention.
However, the PDP’s National Chairman, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, who inaugurated the committee in Abuja on Monday, said the party’s National Working Committee set up the team because of happenings in the state.
He listed the committee’s terms of the reference to include finding out and reporting the extent of political harmony or otherwise among the stakeholders in the party in the state, interacting, and establishing the most effective approach to resolving contending issues among them.
