The Oyo State Government, in collaboration with a Japanese agency, has restated its commitment to capacity building in science and mathematics education, with the aim of restoring the status of the state in education.
The state Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Adetokunbo Fayokun, after declaring open the Oyo State 2013 Japan International Cooperation Agency, Strengthening Mathematics and Science Education/Inset Interventions Cycle I Project, at Queen’s School, Apata, Ibadan, revealed the state’s intention for the people.
The Commissioner stressed the importance of collaboration in education, saying that there is need for the two-week training workshop on science and mathematics organised to help in capacity building.
She further added that there is need to always organise trainings until teachers are exposed to the best methodology in science and mathematics delivery, considering the quality of science and mathematics education in the country.
