There was jubilation in Idanre, on Sunday, when the Ondo State government presented to the people of the town, eight Tata buses to convey students and pupils to and fro school, free of charge.
The gesture was part of the Dr. Olusegun Mimiko’s administration free school shuttle policy, where buses are provided for students in the state, to convey them to school free of charge.
Traditional rulers, parents and students upon sighting the buses showered praises on governor Mimiko for a promise kept. The buses drove in convoy round the town to the excitement of residents.
The state’s Commissioner for Transport, Nicholas Tofowomo, said the buses were part of Governor Mimiko’s electoral promises to the people of the town.
Presenting the busses on behalf of the state governor, Dr. Ademujimi urged the students to make judicious use of the busses adding that it would be a major way to appreciate the government’s kind gesture.
