President, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mohammed Garba has urged to journalists to be objective in their reportage and not report to overheat the polity.
He made this Garba appeal in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the effects of a possible further postponement of the election.
Garba tasked the media to make sure they enlighten the public on how to carry out their civic duties to ensure hitch-free polls. He also urged media owners to ensure that all reporters scheduled to cover the polls were properly insured.
The President decried assaults on journalists and destruction of their equipment during the polls.
