The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Comptroller General, Mr. David Parradang, has decorated the newly promoted Assistant Comptrollers General and Comptrollers of the service, who were promoted by the Nigerian Fire Service, Prisons, Immigration and NDCDC Board recently.
The Immigration Controller in charge of Lagos State Command, Mr. Julius Ogbu and former spokesman of the NIS, Mr. Pat Sessi, were among those promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers General of the NIS.
Parradang congratulated the newly promoted 27 Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) and 18 Comptrollers of Immigration (CIS) and also urged them to live up to their rank and avoid corruption in all ramifications.
He further pointed out that, “It is on record that many of our officers have experienced stagnation in the course of their career in the Nigeria Immigration Service and successive administrations of the NIS have made efforts to rectify the anomaly.”
“I must, therefore, appreciate the spirited efforts of the Minister of Interior, Patrick Abba Moro and the able members of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board that worked tirelessly to secure more vacancies that facilitated the promotion of a total of 2,979 deserving officers in the recent promotion exercise, in line with extant guidelines,” he said.
He added that the security of the nation’s borders has become uppermost in the hearts of the Immigration management team.
