The Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced plans for the seventh edition of its Golden Pen Awards. According to a statement from the company, this year’s award will retain the same mechanisms used last year, adding that journalists and media houses are expected to send in entries based on the themes of education, youth empowerment and talent development.
The statement quoted the company’s Corporate Affairs Adviser, Kufre Ekanem, as saying that journalists and their media houses could send in reports published between January 1 and December 31, 2014.
Ekanem added that collection of entries had commenced and would close on Friday, September 21.
He said the jury would analyse the reports and photographs for their originality, news value, use of resources, credibility and factuality as well as info-graphics, layout,/headlines, clarity and social impact.
According to him, categories of the award and the prizes to be won include the Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Reporter of the Year; the first runner-up for the Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Reporter of the Year and the second runner-up for the Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Reporter of the Year.
Ekanem said, “Winners will be announced and awarded their prizes at the Seventh Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Awards ceremony in October 2015.”
