Dr. Robert Colebunders, one of those who discovered the Ebola virus in the mid seventies, and Alex Coutinho will work with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control and the federal government to develop a curriculum for Ebola virus study in Nigeria.
This was disclosed yesterday during a presentation of certificate to Gombe State University, as one of the institutions in Nigeria where infectious diseases research will be conducted.
Dr. Iorwa Apera, Director of the West African Infectious Diseases Institute (WAIDI), said the Nigerian government did a good job in containing the Ebola virus in the country. He said beyond that, there is need to sustain that effort and also institutionalize level of preparedness.
