The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria , NAHCON has disclosed that it would commence airlifting of Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for this year’s hajj August 18.
This was disclosed by NAHCON chairman Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtarat the weekend in Abuja after inaugurating the medical team for the exercise.
Represented by the commissioner in charge of strategy Alhaji Saleh Okenwa, Mukhtar said the commission was fully prepared for this year’s hajj as all necessary arrangements had been put in place for its commencement and success, adding that the commission had provided adequate medical facilities for Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
He promised that this year’s exercise would be different from previous ones because of the level of the commission’s preparedness.
Responding, the head of the medical team, Dr Ibrahim Kana, commended the commission for the medical arrangements put in place for this year’s exercise, saying he has no doubt that this year’s exercise would be successful.
