Sokoto State Government on Wednesday approved N774.7 million for the construction of 23 women development centres across the state.
One centre would be domiciled at the headquarters of each of the 23 local governments of the state.
The Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Kulu Nuhu, announced this in Sokoto while addressing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.
Nuhu said that each of the centres would cost about N33.9 million.
She said that each of them would be provided with offices, administration blocks, staff quarters and perimeter fencing, among others.
“These centres would be used to train women in various skills and trades, to further alleviate poverty and unemployment,” she added.
