The MTN Foundation has over the years plowed over N9 billion into the execution of different projects such as education and economic empowerment in about 338 locations across the 36 states of federation, including the federal capital territory (FCT). This investment is a part of the foundation’s effort to foster its corporate social responsibility arm.
The Executive Secretary of MTN Foundation, Ms Nonny Ugboma, who disclosed this during the handover of a Y’ello Doctor Mobile Medical Intervention Clinic to the Abia State government at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, noted that the scheme was just one of the many projects under the health portfolio of the foundation.
Ugboma said other notable projects under the portfolio included MTNF Medical Support Project (MSP), the annual MTNF community health screening and the MTNF sickle cell project.
“At MTN, we believe that health is one area where the private sector can play a visible role. That is why through the Y’ello Doctor Mobile medical intervention scheme, nwebseek to contribute to the efforts of the federal and state ministries of health to improve overall health care delivery in Nigeria.
