The governor, who spoke at the BlueRoof Hall, LTV Complex, Agidingbi, added that the difficulties facing Nigerians in getting homes explained why the government intervened on rent control and management.
He said a legislation passed by the government to that effect barred home owners from taking more than a year’s rent.
Fashola noted that the practice of “asking people who get their salaries on monthly basis to pay three years rent in advance is simply about the people hurting themselves.
