Kwara Invests N2.8bn In Rural Roads

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, recently stated that the state government, in alliance with the 16 local governments in the state, invested N2.8bn in rural roads in 2012.

The governor, during the state government’s monthly public enlightenment programme, said that the state government spent N2bn while the 16 LGs spent N800, 000m in the construction of rural roads in the year 2012.

He added that the collaboration between state and local government in road construction and other infrastructure provision is beneficial to the local government.

He also added that the government is invested in road construction, rehabilitation and transportation modernisation to improve the state and the people’s wellbeing.
