Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi insists the African Champions are not out for revenge against Italy when they clash with the Azzuri in a friendly affair in London on November 18.
The Nigerian team were eliminated in the second round of USA’94 World Cup after Roberto Baggio’s brace for Italy at Foxboro Stadium on July 5, 1994 made the Eagles’ early lead through Emmanuel Amunike unimportant. However, Keshi, says he has since put the game behind them.
“I am not thinking of revenge at all. 1994 was a long time ago,” Keshi told supersport.com on Sunday.
“Italy have some of the best players in the world and this game will serve as a very good test for us. I am looking forward to the game.”
“We have a game with Jordan in the next few days. After that we will face Ethiopia in Calabar on November 16 and that is the game we must strive to win,” he said.
