Governor Ibrahim Shema has said that the 34 council areas of Katsina state currently have a total of N33 billion in their joint account.
The governor, who spoke yesterday during the inauguration of newly elected council chairmen, said the money was being kept in trust for governance at the grass root.
He said that the money would soon be disbursed to the council areas based on what is due to each of them. He also urged the council chairmen to dispense the money for execution of developmental projects.
Shema added: “We have done our best in guarding your trust.”
