The Kano State Government said it has trained 532 youths on fisheries and livestock farming.
Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State who announced this in Kano on Monday during the graduation of the trainees, said that the training was organised to empower the youths.
He said that the youths, selected from all the Local Government Areas of the state, were trained for one month with the aim of eradicating poverty among women and youths in the state
Kwankwaso said that the training was also organised to make the beneficiaries self reliant and contribute their quota to the development of the state and the welfare of their families.
Dr Baraka Sani, the state Commissioner for Agriculture, commended the government for supporting women and youth in the state.
She urged the beneficiaries to share the knowledge they acquired during the training with other people.
The commissioNer also urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the knowledge acquired during training to become self reliant.
