Judicial Workers Continue Strike

The striking Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), after a special emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, yesterday, vowed to sustain the ongoing strike which has paralysed judicial activities across the country, until their demands are met.

In a communique issued and signed by the JUSUN president, Mr Marwan Adamu and the general secretary, Mr Isaiah Adetola, the union said the outcome of the meeting held with the Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu, the National Judicial Council (NJC), the Accountant-General of the Federation and other stakeholders in the judicial sector did not go down well with the workers.

“NEC in session resolved to sustain the ongoing strike until the Federal High Court’s  judgment and orders of January 13 on fiscal autonomy and independence of the judiciary is fully implemented,” it read.

The JUSUN president, therefore, called on the Accountant-General of the Federation and other stakeholders to comply with the judgment and orders.
