The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has announced that a comprehensive review of the legislative agenda would be carried out just as the House approaches its mid-term point. + However, the expectations of the accused persons and their followers for the commencement of trial by another judge was dashed as there was no judge to hear the case.
– The review, according to Hon. Tambuwal, will help to determine how far the House has gone in the delivery of the aims and objectives of the agenda which was subscribed to by every member of the House at the beginning of the assembly.
– The legislative agenda formed the bedrock of the policy direction of the House’s seventh assembly.
– While welcoming the Project Director of Democratic Governance for Development Project, funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Mr Mourtada Deme, Tambuwal called for technical assistance for the review of the legislative agenda.
– According to him, projects funded by the UNDP had done a lot to support the growth of democracy in the country, adding that the House would be glad to receive further support as it gets set to review the legislative agenda.
