Heineken Attributes Massive Sales Plunge To Wet Weather

Pale lager beer producer, Heineken, has blamed the wet weather in Europe for a plunge in both sales and profit in the three months to the end of September.

Heineken, which owns Strongbow and Bulmers as well as its eponymous lager, said sales slid 1.5 per cent to €5.1bn (£4bn) in the third quarter.

The Dutch brewer also said net profit in the quarter had also dropped, down to €460m, compared with €483m a year ago.
