Global Terrorism Index Puts Nigeria As Fourth On The List

Nigeria ranked fourth on the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) for 2013, a new global study by the London-based Institute for Economics and Peace.

Nigeria is ranked below Iraq with 2,492 attacks that killed more than 6,300 people, Afghanistan and Pakistan, which ranked first, second and third, respectively, while Syria ranked fifth.

This ranking is primarily an offshoot from terrorist attacks carried out by Boko Haram in northern Nigeria.
