FIFA Ban Looms Over Nigeria Again

There are indications that Nigeria may face an indefinite ban from the World football governing body (FIFA) following the controversial football activities, especially the Jos Court order that nullified the September 19 Extra Ordinary Assembly and the Elective Congress of September 30 that brought Amaju Pinnick led board to power.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Head of Media, Ademola Olajire, on Sunday.

Olajire made it clear that FIFA may come down heavily on Nigeria this week if the court case was not withdrawn immediately, adding that it was the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Issa Hayatou, that pleaded with FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, because of the African Women Championship final between Nigeria and Cameroon, which the country won 2-0 to reclaim the title.

“On Saturday in Windhoek, Namibia, CAF President, Issa Hayatou, told Sports Minister, Tammy Danagogo, in clear terms that the world was fed up with Nigeria’s incorrigibility in the area of football administration,” Olajire said.
