February Polls: NYSC Warns Corp Members Against Misconduct

Corp members who would take part in the forthcoming elections have been sounded a note of warning by the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Johnson Olawumi.

He stated that corp members who flout this warning would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The DG, who gave this warning to corps members during his visit to the Chairman of INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, said it became necessary as the corps members are above 18 years of age.

“Since I assumed office last year, everywhere I have been, I have been warning them against misconduct during elections duties as any of them caught will be made to face the law and not the scheme because they are all above 18,” he said.

Olawunmi added that as part of the preparations to ensure the smooth participation of the corps members in the forthcoming general election, the NYSC had set up ‘Elections’ Security Committee’, with representatives from the military and other security agencies.
