Fashola Promises To Resolve LASU Crises

The Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, has indicated the state government’s readiness to resolve the ongoing crises that have made lecturers of the Lagos State University (LASU) embark on an indefinite strike.

Speaking through the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Aderemi Ibirogba, the governor, yesterday in Lagos, said government was ready to dialogue with the lecturers in order to end the crisis in the school.

The governor appealed to the striking lecturers to embrace dialogue by coming to the negotiation table, adding that government would invite the lecturers and management of the school for dialogue to that effect.

“The issues will be looked into and everything that needed to be done will be done. I am only trying to admonish the lecturers to sit down with their management to discuss whatever issue they have against themselves. They should both realise that the future of the students, who are leaders of tomorrow, are at stake. The government will call them and look at the issues, with the view to getting a solution to it,” he said.
