The Battle Is Still On ,Ethiopia Warns Eagles

Head Coach,Sewenet Bishaw Of the Ethiopian Walya Antelopes has warned the Super Eagles that the 2-1 victory on October 13 is not a guarantee that the African champions will secure a ticket to the  2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The return leg holds November 16 at the U.J Esuene Stadium in Calabar and if the Eagles avoid a defeat, they will be through to their fifth World Cup finals.

The Ethiopian side coach, who has now tasted defeat twice against the Eagles, said that he was going all out to work out an iron-clad plan that would ensure that his troops reverse their losing trend to the Nigerians, who have one foot in Brazil, courtesy of  two goals by Fernabahce forward Emmanuel Emenike.

“I am a sad man today (Sunday) because we lost despite playing so well in the first hour. We were on top of the Eagles but suddenly lost our focus and got beaten. We did not deserve to lose the match but it is not the end of the road for us”, Bishaw told the Ethiopian Herald.

He added that “we have to pick ourselves up from this defeat and look to  the positives, which were there. We can certainly make things difficult for the Eagles in the return leg. I believe that the tie is not yet over. We still have 90 minutes to play in Nigeria and if we take our chances, then we can qualify. It is definitely not over for us”.
