While in preparation of two friendly matches against Botswana on March 3 and 5, the Golden Eaglets will tackle Bob Osim Academy at the Saint Patrick College, Ikot Ansa, Calabar in another friendly game on Wednesday at 4pm. The game is a rematch as the national U-17 side hammered the academy 5-1 in a previous friendly game last year.
Meanwhile, Eaglets injured goalkeeper Adamu Abubakar has resumed training with his teammates after doctors confirmed him fully fit. Adamu had been sidelined for almost a month due to injuries sustained in an auto crash on his way to camp alongside defender Friday Njengo but his recovery rate has been incredibly swift.
“I’m very impressed with the fitness level of Adamu since he joined us in training. Hardly can you notice that he has not been training for some time now and this is really good news to the team,” Eaglets’ goalkeepers trainer, Emeka Amadi, said. The team’s doctor, Deji Olarinoye, who was at the National Hospital, Abuja, to ascertain the current condition of Njengo, said the defender was still under strict medical observation.
