The Dangote Foundation has disbursed N230 million as micro grant to Kogi women under the initiative of Kogi Human Capital Development.
The grant is in fulfillment of Aliko Dangote’s promise during his visit last year to the flood ravaged state to give special grant to women in Kogi to embark on their various trades. In his address yesterday, during the flag-off of the presentation, Kogi State Governor Idris Wada said 22,000 women across the state are expected to benefit from the grant.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously to boost their various trades and make their lives better.
The governor disclosed further that the state will also embark on micro credit scheme for both men and women in the state.
Earlier, the Special Adviser on Youth and Women Development, Mrs. Temitope Sinkaye, said the donation was a boost to the realization of government’s mission to empower women in the state.
