The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 northern states and FCT have condemned the attack on EYN church in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State last Friday night which led to the killing of 11 people, including a pastor.
Sunday Obei, publicity secretary of Northern CAN also condemned the killing of the popular Sheikh Albani, an Islamic scholar in Zaria. He described the incessant killings as barbaric and uncalled for and called on the government to fish out the perpetrators.
He urged families of the deceased not to lose faith in God’s ability to protect them. “We identify with them; we sympathize with them and we strongly condemn what has happened. It was uncalled for,” he stated. Oibe also called on the governors of the North-east states to sincerely fight insecurity, urging them to remember that they were elected to provide services and security for their people.
