Ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections in Ogun state, the State Commissioner of Police, Valentine Ntomchukwu, has said security has been arranged to tackle any form of violence.
Ntomchukwu, who is the Chairman of the Inter- Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, said this on Wednesday after the meeting of ICCES, which comprises all accredited security agencies, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), held at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The police commissioner said the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Immigration Service, Prisons Service, Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Directorate of Security Services, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, INEC and National Youth Service Corps attended the meeting, where they reviewed the security arrangements for the March 28 election.
Ntomchukwu commended the committee members and stakeholders for their support, efforts and the commitment exhibited during the last elections.
He urged them to add pep in making sure the tempo of security was sustained and improved upon during the forthcoming elections in the state.
