Bayelsa Govt Denies Spending N2bn On AMAA

The Bayelsa State Government has described as false and an attempt to mislead the public claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the state governor, Seriake Dickson lavished the sum of two billion naira on the hosting of the 2014 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

While claiming that the sponsorship of the 2014 African Movie Award was private sector driven with fund raised to bankroll the hosting of the award in the state, the state government said that the present administration will not waiver in the implementation of his administration’s Restoration Agenda, anchored on transparency, accountability, probity, truth and fair play.

A statement issued in by the state government in Yenagoa and signed by Daniel Markson-Iworiso, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, said the governor, did not mince word when he declared that most of the policies and programmes of government will be private sector driven.
