Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil set to face a lengthy time out on the sidelines after undergoing a scan for a niggling knew injury.
The German international has been ruled out for 10-12 weeks with a partial lateral collateral ligament tear in his left knee, after travelling to Munich to undergo an MRI scan ahead of Germany’s upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers and the news means Ozil will miss Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Manchester United on November 22 as well as a potentially crucial Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates on November 26.
He will also likely sit out the trip to Galatasaray on December 9 and the December 21 match against Liverpool at Anfield.
The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. However, Ozil joined up with the Germany squad in Frankfurt with a knee problem before he was sent on to Munich for precautionary tests.
