Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has denied the rumours that the state government would soon ban commercial motorcycle operations in the state, saying there was no iota of truth in such.
He disclosed this recently while presenting over 3,500 safety helmets to the leaders of the motorcycle union from the three local government areas of Oyo State at the Government Secretariat, Ibadan.
The governor said that the state government cared about the welfare of its residents and would continue to assist members of different trade union associations to achieve more.
“However, I need to tell leaders of this union to inform and educate their members on the need to ride Okada with care, this is necessary because of the fatal nature of Okada accidents,” the governor said.
