In a bid to settle its squabble with by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, over violation of SIM Card registration directive, MTN, is to provide LinqUs Mobile ID Platform to its estimated 70 million subscribers.
The new service operated for MTN in SaaS mode by Gemalto Allynis Services would position MTN as the country’s foremost provider of secure digital identification and authentication platform.
It would also mark the first commercial rollout of SIM based services delivering convenient mobile authentication for all mobile users and offers users a universal digital ID combined with a mobile-based second factor authentication, for easy and secure web service access, payments and financial transactions validation.
With the service telecoms operators in Nigeria can adopt MTN Token services to strengthen protection of online services against identity theft and cybercrime and offer a convenient digital journey to its customers by removing complex registration and log-in processes.
