The Nigerian Internet Group (NIG), on Thursday asked Nigerian youths to be more creative in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) activities through software development.
Mr Bayo Banjo, President, NIG, told newsmen in Lagos that the country still lagged behind in the area of ICT software development. He said that dynamism and role of ICT in the global polity made it mandatory for youths to rededicate their mindsets from being mere consumers of the products.
The president urged the youth to channel their energy towards achieving global competitiveness in software development, as against cyber-crime and other social vices associated with ICT.
“The country can only get it right in software development by engaging youths in software development to compete favorably with the knowledge economies, “ Banjo said.
