Lagos State Government has said that an integrated free health screening for hypertension and diabetes as well as breast, cervix and prostate cancers will commence in the State under its first state-wide wellness health week screening programme from Monday 25 through Friday 29 of this month.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Public Health, Dr. Yewande Adeshina, on Thursday, during a press conference to intimate the public on activities lined up for the week.
He noted that the rationale for embarking on the integrated screening programme cannot be overemphasized in view of the danger to health and economic loss hypertension, diabetes and cancer pose to both individuals and government.
