Group Revives N78bn Anambra Case

National Coordinator of Corruption Watch, Mr. Chuks Ogbuka,  in a meeting with the press in Nnewi insisted that Governor Willie Obiano and his All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have not given sufficient explanation to the people of the state on the true position of the N78 billion said to have been left by the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi.

Ogbuka noted that it was true that the matter became a press war between Obi and Obiano, but argued that the matter ended dramatically without any official and ample  explanation as to whether the money was actually left in the state coffers or not.

“Corruption Watch is a group of freedom fighters that has no business whatsoever with any form of injustice and that is why we want those concerned to speak up now. We have given them enough time to see what comes out of the matter. The money is public fund which must be accounted for in the best interest of Anambra State” said Ogbuka.

The activist noted that Obiano and APGA should forget the issue of second term if they decide to keep quiet over the matter, which he said was flogged but suddenly dropped by conflicting parties.

“Corruption Watch is ready to take up this matter with the nation’s anti-graft organisations, we are preparing our records based on what we are able to gather from the two sides in the media but, we are digging deeper and we will surely bring EFCC into these claims and counter-claims” Oguka continued.

Ogbuka further stated that his group would rather see more of the developmental promises materialise and not just on billboard advertisements.
