Gov Ahmed Kicks Off Sugar Cane Plantation At BUA

Following the growing need to elevate the effectiveness of the manufacturing sector, hence, generating employment opportunities, the Kwara State governor, Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed has flagged off 2016 planting season, with sugar cane at BUA owned Lafiagi Sugar Company(LASUCO).

The ceremony signalled commencement of operations  at LASUCO where BUA Group planned to invest  $300million .

The governor said that increased sugar cane plantation as being championed by the BUA Group would help in diversifying the nation’s economy and create job opportunities for Kwarans. He also lauded the management of LASUCO for daring all the odds  to eventually commence the operations of the sugar company.

Governor Ahmed who expressed optimism that the development would positively revolutionalise the economy of the state and Nigeria in general stressed that it would create wealth and massive gainful employment for the youths in the community and the state in general because of the nature of the production.
